Idea 2: Browser for Grandpa

Old people who aren't tech savvy do not need a full featured browser to do basic things like e-mail, sending pictures etc. In fact it may be daunting for them to take all the steps it takes to do some of these basic tasks. Also most web UIs aren't exactly designed to help them. Can we build a simple app with a comfortable interface to help old folks with some of these tasks.
1. Send e-mail to family/friends.
2. Send/receive pictures
3. Read syndicated news.

  1. Sounds like a good idea that can really make grandparents' life easier. Technically quite feasible. At the same time there might be marketing difficulties. I mean, it is possible to market it, but you need to have reasonable marketing budget for that if you want to go big. Plus smart product pricing is important. When people's 401k is gone, they might prefer to play it safe. And how old is your grandpa? People in their 50-60s are already using hotmail, yahoo and outlook. They might not be on gmail chat yet, but some are already friends with google. People in their 70-80s might be more interested in voice/clap/press operated equipment. But who knows with modern medical breakthroughs, may be in the near future it will be this audience blogging most in their spare time.
